Marius Zug quickest in second practice at Paul Ricard

RN Vision STS BMW driver Marius Zug was the fastest driver in the second and last free practice session before qualifying for round 3 of the 2019 GT4 European Series.
Half of the 42-car field finished the second practice session at Circuit Paul Ricard within one second of each other. Another 13 cars were within two seconds of the fastest time set this afternoon.
The session took place under a clear blue sky, with temperatures almost reaching 26ºC again. Zug coped well with the high temperatures, lapping the French track in 2:14.038.
Benjamin Lessennes in the Equipe Verschuur McLaren was second overall and fastest in Silver Cup, with Simon Knap’s MDM Motorsport BMW third fastest - just 0.019s off Lessennes time.
Marc Basseng put the Schwede Motorsport Mercedes in fourth place overall and second in Pro-Am, ahead of the fastest French driver in the session - Aurelien Panis in the Selleslagh Racing Team Mercedes.
Nicolaj Møller-Madsen (Phoenix Racing), Ricardo van der Ende (Ekris Motorsport) and Ivan Lukashevivch (Bullitt Racing) completed the overall top eight.
Fastest in the Am class was the #27 IMSA Performance Audi of Franck Leherpeur. The French team, making a one-off appearance to prepare for the FFSA GT final, set the ninth fastest time overall.
Street Art Racing’s Clement Seyler put his Aston Martin second in class, whilst David Loger was third fastest in the CMR Alpine.
Track action will continue tomorrow at 9.00 with qualifying for this weekend’s two races. The first race will start at 14.10. The race will be streamed on the GT4 European Series website and Facebook page.
