AKKA ASP driver Jim Pla turned the fastest lap in Free Practice 2 for the GT4 European Series at Zandvoort this afternoon.
Grégory Guilvert had set the early pace for Saintéloc Racing in its #42 Audi, but 20 minutes from the end it was Pla in the #87 Mercedes-AMG who jumped to P1 with a fastest lap of 1m43.633, 0.268s quicker than his fellow countryman.
Third fastest and completing a Pro-Am top three was Cem Bolukbasi in the #12 Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport BMW, whose time of 1m44.128 was only two milliseconds faster than Lluc Ibanez in the #15 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG in fourth. Ibanez was the fastest Silver Cup driver in the second practice session.
The #20 Allied Racing Porsche ended the session fifth, ahead of the #14 Sainteloc Racing Audi and the #17 V8 Racing Chevrolet. The Centri Porsche Ticino #718 car that set the pace in Free Practice 1 finished the session in 22nd place.
Eric Herr put the #89 AGS Events Aston Martin on top in the Am Cup. Herr was almost two tenths quicker than the #18 Hella Pagid -racing one Aston Martin. The #69 Team Fullmotorsport Audi completed the top three in the Am class. Full results of Free Practice 2 can be viewed here.
Qualifying for tomorrow’s races is next, with the first session set to get underway at 18:05. Qualifying will be streamed live on the website, on SRO Motorsports Group's GT World YouTube channel and the GT4 European Series Facebook page.
